Migrate from HubSpot to SalesBob

Overview

This guide walks you through exporting your data from HubSpot CRM and importing it into SalesBob. The process involves three main data types:

Companies (imported as Customers)
Contacts (imported as Customer Contacts)
Deals

Estimated time: 15-30 minutes depending on your data volume.

Before You Begin

You need admin access in both HubSpot and SalesBob.
Import companies first, then contacts, then deals — this preserves the relationships between records.
SalesBob's import wizard has a built-in HubSpot preset that automatically maps columns for you.
You can undo any import within 24 hours if something goes wrong.

Step 1: Export Companies from HubSpot

Start by exporting your company records from HubSpot:

1 In HubSpot, go to Contacts → Companies.
2 Click Actions → Export (top right).
3 Choose CSV as the file format.
4 Select the properties you want to export (at minimum: Company name, Phone, Website, City, Street Address, Postal Code, Country).
5 Click Export and download the CSV file when ready.

Step 2: Import Companies into SalesBob

Now import the exported companies into SalesBob:

1 In SalesBob, go to Settings → Import.
2 Select Customers as the import type.
3 Upload the CSV file you exported from HubSpot.
4 Select the HubSpot preset — columns will be mapped automatically.
5 Review the preview and click Import.

Step 3: Export Contacts from HubSpot

Next, export your contact records:

1 In HubSpot, go to Contacts → Contacts.
2 Click Actions → Export.
3 Choose CSV as the file format.
4 Select the properties to export (at minimum: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Job Title, Associated Company).
5 Click Export and download the CSV file.

Step 4: Import Contacts into SalesBob

Import the contacts and link them to the companies you already imported:

1 In SalesBob, go to Settings → Import.
2 Select Customer Contacts as the import type.
3 Upload the CSV file you exported from HubSpot.
4 Select the HubSpot preset.
5 The "Associated Company" column will be matched to existing customers by name. Review the preview and click Import.

Step 5: Export Deals from HubSpot

Finally, export your deals:

1 In HubSpot, go to Sales → Deals.
2 Click Actions → Export.
3 Choose CSV as the file format.
4 Select the properties to export (at minimum: Deal Name, Amount, Close Date, Deal Stage, Pipeline, Associated Company).
5 Click Export and download the CSV file.

Step 6: Import Deals into SalesBob

Import your deals and link them to customers:

1 In SalesBob, go to Settings → Import.
2 Select Deals as the import type.
3 Upload the CSV file you exported from HubSpot.
4 Select the HubSpot preset.
5 The "Associated Company" column will be matched to existing customers. Review the preview and click Import.

Tips & Best Practices

Import order matters — always import companies first, then contacts, then deals. This ensures that contacts and deals can be linked to their parent companies.
Use the duplicate check — SalesBob's import wizard can skip or update existing records if you re-import. Choose "Skip duplicates" for a safe first import.
Check the preview carefully — the import wizard shows you exactly how your data will be mapped before you commit. Verify that key fields like company name and email are correctly mapped.
Undo if needed — every import can be rolled back within 24 hours from the import history page.
Custom fields — if you have HubSpot custom properties that don't match SalesBob's preset mapping, you can manually map them in the column mapping step.
