Email Notifications

Overview

SalesBob sends email notifications to keep you up to date on important activity. There are 14 notification types across 5 categories, and you control exactly which ones you receive and how they are delivered:

Before You Begin

You need a verified email address on your SalesBob account.
Notification preferences are personal -- each user configures their own settings.
Your admin must have email delivery configured for your SalesBob instance.

Step 1: Open Notification Settings

Navigate to your personal notification preferences:

1 Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner.
2 Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3 Click Notifications in the left sidebar.
4 You will see all 14 notification types organized into 5 categories.

Step 2: Configure Notification Types

For each notification type, choose whether and how you want to be notified:

1 Tasks -- task assigned to you, task due today, task overdue, and task reminders (1, 3, or 7 days before due).
2 Deals -- deal assigned to you, deal stage changed, deal won, and deal lost.
3 Projects -- project assigned to you and file uploaded to your project.
4 Pipeline -- new deal created in your pipeline and deal moved to a watched stage.
5 Absences -- team member absence notifications.

Step 3: Choose Delivery Mode

Each notification type can be delivered in one of two modes:

1 Immediate -- you receive an email within minutes of the event occurring.
2 Daily Digest -- all notifications of that type are batched into a single summary email sent once per day.
3 Off -- disable a specific notification type entirely.
4 You can mix modes freely -- for example, get deal-won notifications immediately but batch task reminders into a daily digest.

Step 4: Use the Watch Feature

Stay informed about deals and projects you are not directly assigned to:

1 Open any deal or project detail page.
2 Click the Watch button to start following that record.
3 You will receive notifications for stage changes, file uploads, and other activity on watched items.
4 Click Unwatch at any time to stop receiving updates for that record.

Step 5: Manage Muting & Newsletter

Temporarily silence all notifications or manage newsletter preferences:

1 Use Temporary Mute to disable all email notifications for a specified duration (e.g., during vacation).
2 While muted, no emails are sent -- notifications resume automatically when the mute period ends.
3 The Newsletter toggle controls whether you receive product update emails from SalesBob.
4 You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link at the bottom of any newsletter email.

Tips & Best Practices

Start with immediate delivery -- you can always switch to daily digest later once you know which notifications are most valuable to you.
Use task reminders wisely -- configure reminder timing (1, 3, or 7 days before due) to give yourself enough lead time without creating noise.
Watch key deals -- sales managers can watch their team's important deals to stay informed without being directly assigned.
Use mute for focus time -- temporarily mute notifications during deep work sessions or vacations instead of turning them off individually.
Check your spam folder -- if you are not receiving notifications, make sure SalesBob emails are not being filtered by your email provider.
