Build interactive pricing calculators, share them via public link, translate with AI, and track every view and calculation.

What you will learn

A Cost Calculator is a public, shareable pricing form for usage-based products. Prospects punch in their numbers (users, GB, transactions) and see the price live — no login, no sales call. You can publish the same calculator in multiple languages with one-click AI translation, set expiration dates for time-sensitive pricing, and track every view and calculation.

  • Create a calculator with a name, description, and optional logo
  • Add inputs (number, slider, dropdown), text blocks, and calculation outputs
  • Translate to additional languages with one-click AI translation
  • Share the public link and watch the view / calculation counters tick up

⏱ Reading time: 6 minutes

Before you begin

  • Cost Calculator is included on the Professional and Enterprise plans
  • A pricing model in mind — usually per-unit (per user, per GB, per transaction)
  • Optional: a logo file (PNG/SVG) for branded calculators
1

Create the calculator

Start with the basics — name, description, currency, and optional branding.

  1. 1 Go to Calculators → New
  2. 2 Enter a name (visible to prospects) and a short description
  3. 3 Pick the display currency
  4. 4 Optional: upload a logo and set an expiration date
2

Add elements

Build the form with input, output, and text elements.

  1. 1 Add inputs: number field, slider, dropdown, or checkbox
  2. 2 Each element has a label and optional help text
  3. 3 Add text blocks for explanations between inputs
  4. 4 Add a calculation output — uses a formula referencing other elements (e.g. users × 29 + storage_gb × 0.5)
  5. 5 Drag elements to reorder them
3

Translate (optional)

Calculators can be served in any of your supported locales. Add translations manually or let Claude do them.

  1. 1 Click "Translate with Claude" — name, description, and all element labels translate in one shot
  2. 2 Review and tweak the AI output if needed
  3. 3 Repeat per locale if you support more than two languages
  4. 4 The public URL automatically shows the locale matching the visitor's browser preference
4

Share the link

Each calculator gets a slug-based public URL — no login required for prospects.

  1. 1 Copy the public URL: /calculator/{slug}
  2. 2 Send it via email or embed it on your website
  3. 3 Prospects open the link, fill in numbers, see the price update live
  4. 4 No account needed for the prospect — the slug is the only auth
5

Track usage

Every calculator view and every calculation is tracked.

  1. 1 Open a calculator detail page to see view count and calculation count
  2. 2 See which calculators get the most engagement
  3. 3 Renew expired links by updating the expiration date
  4. 4 Use the data to identify pricing experiments worth running

Tips & best practices

  • Keep calculators short — 3 to 5 inputs maximum. Long forms hurt completion rates
  • Use the AI translation feature to publish in your customer's native language without manual work
  • Set expirations on time-sensitive promotional pricing so old links don't mislead
  • Test the public URL in incognito to confirm exactly what your prospect will see
  • Upload your logo to maintain brand consistency on the public page

Need help?

If a calculation isn't producing the right number, check the formula syntax in the calculation output element. Each input element has a stable identifier you reference in formulas.
